Boy Arrested for Murder of Girl in Kogi State

A boy has been arrested in Kogi State for the murder of a girl on Wednesday night, September 11, 2024. Law enforcement agents accompanied the suspect to a remote building site surrounded by bush, where the girl’s body was discovered.
The boy confessed that he lured the girl to the bushy area and killed her around 9 PM after she attempted to escape upon seeing his face. He claimed that he kidnapped her, which prompted her attempt to flee.
Authorities found the girl's corpse alongside another body allegedly dumped by the suspect. The heart of one of the corpses had reportedly been removed, although the boy denied any involvement in dismembering the bodies and maintained only that he killed the girl.
This incident is part of a concerning trend in Nigeria, as there has been an increase in similar deaths, often linked to ritual killings and financial motives, raising alarm within communities and law enforcement agencies alike.
