The Buganda Road Magistrates Court has remanded 19-year-old social media influencer Nasser Nduhukire also known as Don Nasser, to Luzira Prison as he faces prosecution for child trafficking and defilement of an underage girl. Nduhukire was apprehended in Kenya over the weekend after months on the run and has been repatriated to Uganda to answer the allegations against him.

Two Count Charge Against Nasser

During Nasser's arraignment, Chief Magistrate Ronald Kayizzi presided over the case, where Nasser was charged with two counts:

Count 1: Aggravated trafficking of a child, contrary to the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons Act
Count 2: Defilement of a girl below the age of 18 years

The prosecution alleges that Nduhukire, along with accomplices who remain at large, exploited his social influence to entice young girls, primarily students, into situations involving sexual exploitation, drug abuse, and pornography.

Details of the Allegations

Nduhukire is accused of transporting a 16-year-old girl from Tagore Apartments on Acacia Avenue in Kampala and harboring her at his residence in Kira Division for four days, from May 23rd to May 27th, 2024. He pleaded not guilty to the charges presented in court.

Ongoing Investigations

State prosecutor Ivan Kyazze informed the court that investigations surrounding the case are ongoing. Nduhukire's personal assistant, Promise Ateete, was previously charged and initially released on bail; however, her bail was revoked on Monday following amendments to the charge sheet.

Next Steps

Both Nduhukire and Ateete have been remanded to Luzira Prison, with the next court mention scheduled for October 8. The magistrate indicated that the case will be transferred to the High Court due to its serious nature. Nduhukire has been a wanted suspect since May, linked to allegations of drugging and defiling the daughter of a police officer, with ongoing investigations into other potential victims associated with his activities.
