A Texas teacher has been sentenced to 325 months in federal prison for her role in facilitating sexual conduct between minors.

Keisha Lyn Swarner, 42, a fifth-grade teacher, was found guilty of one count of sexual performance by a child after inducing a 13-year-old boy to engage in sexual activities with a 12-year-old girl. Court documents revealed that Swarner encouraged these meetings at her home located on Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland and communicated with the boy through text messages, urging him to keep the interactions secret from his parents.

The disturbing case came to light following Swarner's arrest on April 14, 2022. She has remained in federal custody since the arrest. In a hearing on January 9, 2024, Swarner pleaded guilty, admitting her culpability in authorizing and inducing a child younger than 14 to partake in sexual conduct.

In addition to her prison sentence, Swarner will face 30 years of supervised release following her term. This case highlights the profound violations of trust and the severe consequences individuals face when exploiting minors. Authorities continue to emphasize the importance of vigilance in protecting children from similar predatory behaviors.
